Each year, The American Chamber of Commerce [AmCham] delivers the acclaimed Women of Influence (WOI) conference and awards where they recognize and celebrate the exemplary accomplishments of women, and the allyship of men in Hong Kong. AmCham plays a critical role as an influential community contributor and strong advocate for women’s empowerment and advancement in the workplace.
This year, FREY. Founder, Frederieke Van Doorn has been nominated in the category of Leading Woman Entrepreneur.

I work across all areas of my business and am involved in the day-to-day with my team, wanting to ensure that each employee feels valued and empowered,” says Frederieke.
Frederieke spent 12 years in China working in men’s tailoring for Suit Supply. She spent countless hours sewing, cutting, and steaming until perfection was achieved. She immersed herself in the world of fabrics, design, prints, and production runs, even learning Mandarin along the way. After relocating to Hong Kong, Frederieke was tired of the rigid, ill-fitting suits that dominated corporate culture and was frustrated there weren’t more options for women. Three years ago she decided to take matters into her own hands, resulting in the birth of FREY.
With an ‘Off-The-Rack’ seasonal collection, as well as a ‘Create-Your-Own’ tailoring service, FREY. offers luxurious yet affordable options for office wear. For the perfect fit, FREY. also provides in-house alterations for off-the-rack pieces.

“When it comes to sustainability, FREY. is dedicated to revolutionizing the global fashion industry. Our brand exclusively utilizes natural and semi-natural materials, along with dead stock. Our premium fabrics are sourced from renowned Italian mills with a surplus of unsold fabric known as ‘deadstock’. By repurposing this deadstock, we create our garments, ensuring top-quality fabrics without contributing to new production pollution. We use repurposed nuts and shells for buttons and implement eco-friendly packaging solutions. Additionally, FREY. collaborates with eco-conscious brands like KIBO to encourage local shopping, such as selling their shoes in our stores,” says Frederieke.

To celebrate International Women’s Day and the launch of FREY.’s Spring Collection, 10% of all sales on March 7 & 8 will be donated to The Women’s Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong.
